Benefits of our WTCC Well Caps

Written by Braedlyn McEwen | Aug 28, 2025 10:30:00 AM

Well Caps have become more popular with the decline of well pits. Well casings now extend above the ground, requiring a Well cap to cap it off. Well caps can include many key features including locking features and vermin and water proof. They are available in a variety of sizes and materials (even colours)!

In this blog, we will take a look at 4 benefits of using Boshart's WTCC series well caps.

As traditional well pits continue to phase out, well caps have quickly become the standard solution for sealing modern water wells. Today, well casings are designed to extend above ground level for better protection and easier access, making a secure and durable well cap an essential component. Well caps do much more than simply “cap off” the casing. They often feature secure locking mechanisms, watertight and vermin-proof seals, and are available in a wide range of sizes, materials, and even colours to suit different installations and preferences.

In this blog, we’ll explore four key benefits of choosing Boshart’s WTCC Series well caps and why they’ve become a trusted solution for contractors and well professionals across the industry.

The Boshart Advantage

1. The WTCC series well caps are easier & faster to install

There is no need to remove a handful of bolts on the top cover just to install a well cap. This is a huge benefit to well drillers since there are many cases when the well head must be sealed off after drilling and the submersible pump is installed later on. For the WTCC series well caps, simply loosen off the bolts and push it down on the well casing until it makes contact with the internal positioning stop, then you can tighten the bolts and set screws, tat's it!

2. Less risk of dropping or losing the hardware

Since there is no need to remove the cover to install the WTCC cap onto the well casing, the risk of dropping bolts and nuts and losing them is greatly reduced. Unlike the double O-ring well cap system, the cover doesn't need to be removed until you have installed the submersible pump. This typically happens at a later date, once the pitless adapter is installed and the pit is backfilled.

3. Easy to achieve a positive seal to the well casing.

The WTCC series includes a deeper sealing pocket with an extra wide gasket that is very forgiving and provides a greater sealing area. This is a huge benefit if the well casing is not cut off as straight and perpendicular as its supposed to be.

4. Aluminum & More sizes available

With the addition of the aluminum series WTCC-A, we have been able to add additional sizes. The interest in these well caps have been renewed by installers who like using aluminum well caps, which previously were not available with the wide gasket design.

In Conclusion:

The WTCC series well caps are an excellent choice for any well installer. They are available in a variety of sizes so be sure to check out boshart.com to check out all of the WTCC options available!
